RE: Hudson Valley Councilman Continues Tour of Local Businesses Amid COVID Pandemic
Since March of 2018, Councilman Anil Beephan has vowed to be a business-friendly representative for East Fishkill. To expand this mission, Anil launched the #HometownHotspot initiative to highlight local businesses and create an opportunity for open dialogue with proprietors. Since Beephan embarked on his tour, he has visited 100+ establishments and spent over $1000 on advertising to bolster their online presence.
Beephan said, "small businesses are the backbone of our community. Each day we rely on them to feed our families, clothe our children, and supply vital necessities. We must take strides to make business ownership and growth more attainable in our respective communities. We need government and business to work together for the benefit of everyone. Together, we can continue to reform local legislation, overcome barriers, and make ownership more affordable."
This initiative comes as New York continues to rank one of the worst states to start a business. Notorious for onerous legislation and high taxes, owners continue to be frustrated with the business-unfriendly practices.
Councilman Beephan is committed to making his home state more affordable for all to experience the American Dream of business ownership. He will continue to pursue bipartisan opportunities to support legislative reforms for small businesses.
